Maxfli Launches Golf's First Six-Piece Golf Ball
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Maxfli®, a golf brand built on over 90 years of excellence, has launched the first-ever six-piece golf ball. The U/6 was engineered to provide great distance, soft feel and greenside spin, while aiding golfers of all levels to hit straighter shots and control side spin on off-center hits.
"In looking to take the Maxfli brand to the next level in ball development, we wanted to provide a product that has yet to be seen and can be played by those on the professional level, as well as the casual golfer," said Ray North, Director of Product Development for Maxfli Golf. "We have developed a ball that allows us to combine optimal short game spin and control with reduced side spin in the long irons, hybrids and woods. The result is straighter distance and improved accuracy."
The U/6 is comprised of a large core and progressively dense mantle layers to maintain distance, create a soft feel, and better accuracy overall as a result of the design. The low density inner mantle layers are built to bring out the engine in the ball and increase distance. The higher density outer mantle layers are denser to increase the ball's MOI and reduce side spin.
The U/6 will be the fifth installment of the urethane covered U-Series ball line launched last year. The U/2, U/3, U/4, and U/4x were all recipients of Golf Digest HOT List awards in their respective categories. All five balls will be showcasing a slightly new urethane cover this season, which improves durability.
