Tandem Diabetes Care and Dexcom Expand Development and Commercialization Agreement to Include Recently Approved G4(TM) PLATINUM CGM Sensor

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tandem Diabetes Care, Inc. ("Tandem") announced today that its Development and Commercialization Agreement with Dexcom, Inc., has been expanded to include Dexcom's newest continuous glucose monitoring system, the G4(TM) PLATINUM. Dexcom announced in October that the G4 PLATINUM was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

"Dexcom's G4 PLATINUM sensor is the most accurate and easiest to use technology available, and fits well with our product development plans," said Kim Blickenstaff, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tandem. According to clinical trials conducted by Dexcom, the G4 PLATINUM has improved overall accuracy and ease of use compared to the company's previous Seven Plus CGM.

The Development and Commercialization Agreement between Tandem and Dexcom is non-exclusive and limited to the U.S. market.
