Mary Jo Maydew Joins Ashford University Board of Trustees
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mary Jo Maydew, an experienced university administrator and financial professional, has accepted a position on the Board of Trustees for Ashford University. Her term on the Board began on November 2.
Maydew's career encompasses more than 30 years of experience in higher education. From 2000 to 2011, she served as the vice president for finance and administration at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. She also spent 13 years as Mount Holyoke's treasurer. Previously, Maydew was at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., where she held the positions of assistant treasurer and assistant to the university controller.
"Mary Jo Maydew will be an outstanding addition to the Ashford University Board of Trustees," said Dr. Richard Pattenaude, Ashford University president. "Her extensive background in university finance, administration and accreditation will benefit the Board and the University enormously."
Prior to her career in higher education, Maydew held various positions in the financial field. She was a senior financial analyst at Communications Satellite Corporation and the budget manager for Public Broadcasting Service, among other positions. Maydew earned her MBA from Cornell University and her BS in Accounting from the University of Denver.
